Hurricane Sandy

This Jersey Girl is Back after 10 days without WiFi! Talk about withdrawal! The trees fell like dominoes! These pictures are from our street and back yard, thankfully only wires were taken out. A few days without power and cable is nothing compared to what some families and businesses are going through, my heart goes out to them. Hope everyone is doing well!

Sunsets

Love watching the sunset, especially at the shore. It truly looks like the sky touches the water and the sun dips below its surface. No matter how many times I see it, its a truly breath taking scene. I love being here with my family and seeing the awe on their faces and have them, for at least awhile, step away from all things wifi and know life can be even more entertaining. Mari

Saturday Desire

I know this isn't what you might think when you read the word desire, but life has been insane for me lately. My dad, not only suffering from Parkinson's has developed a type of dementia. It is really hard to watch your daddy fade away like this, I really miss him. What makes it harder is having to make decisions that are truly best not only for his care but for your family, whose lives don't stop because he and you are in a crisis. So yes, this is my Saturday desire. To have just a few moments to escape into another world that exists between the pages of a book. Have a great weekend and please appreciate all you have. Mari

Niagara Falls

Just returned from a long weekend in Niagara Falls. What an amazing place! Full of Natural Beauty! Our first national park and chock full of history! between there and a visit to Lockport, home of the Five steps, part of the original Erie canal and water turbine engines..my mind if full of possible Americana and steam punk ideas.
