resolve to kiss more!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had someone special to kiss at midnight, to welcome in the new year! I recently added to my growing file of facts showing how beneficial kissing can be. Making this passtime all the more worthwhile!...

Kisses cheer you up. They use the same muscles as a smile. The contact of lips to another’s actually signals the brain to release Oxytocin that fun hormone that causes that feel good all over feeling. Not to mention you are close enough to discover if your pheromones are in sync…Whether that kiss could lead to something more. If so, then a chemical is released that prompts us to want more. Bet you don’t want to stop at just one.

If that info's not enough to make you want to kiss more then here’s what other studies showed…

~Okay, allergy sufferers are you up for a challenge? The results from a study in The Journal of Psychosomatic Research showed kissing for a half-hour may give relief from allergies. The lip-locking sessions appear to lower levels of IgE, an antibody that’s responsible for sneezing and stuffiness.

~It reduces stress… your breathing becomes deeper, your eyes drift closed, it’s the perfect way to shut out the world.

~Helps you lose weight…10 calories for every 10 minutes of kissing. Anyone up to the challenge? *g*

~ Slows the aging of the face, by working out the neck and cheek and jaw muscles.

~Increases fitness levels… adrenaline enters the blood stream, hearts pumping, pulse racing… hmmm if your partner is good enough at it, it can be a regular cardiovascular work out!

~ Helps prevent tooth decay… saliva produced during kissing helps bring plaque levels down to normal… although not sure how many kisses you’ll get after a burger topped with onions unless you brush first or at least pop a breath mint in your mouth.

~One study by German psychologists and physicians determined a kiss in the morning was good for your career…recipients missed less days due to illness, had fewer auto accidents, earned 20-30 percent more and lived five years longer.

In any case, go up to those you care about and plant a kiss on them. Give them that feel good all over feeling that comes from knowing someone cares! Plus you can practice up for Valentine's Day or better yet International Kissing Day on July 6th!!!

May your days be filled with all different kinds of kisses, with many different intentions. From a greeting a friend, affection to family, to an invitation for passion.
