set in motion

Time has been transformed, and we have changed; it has advanced and set us in motion; it has unveiled its face, inspiring us with bewilderment and exhilaration.~ Khalil Gibran

Monday Muse fits the Current WIP!

Word of the Day was Gratification: one of the meanings' is "a source of satisfaction or pleasure." which helped Sibil explain how to tell a man's intention... from our extremely unedited WIP
*****

“I know not. I do not know if our marriage is just a strategy or if…” Agnes went to twist her ring only to remember she did not have it. She glanced around the room, it was not in sight. Gryffen must have it with him. Would he return it to her? What if she never knows? What if he...She banished the thought of him not returning at all. Protect him, bring him back to me, safe.

“Tis an easy way to tell,” Sibil continued, “When you are alone together, in the bedchamber, how is he with you?”

Agnes felt heat rise up her neck and spread over her face and throughout her body. It was like his hands and mouth still touched her body. Her soul was as alive as her body, with him. “He is caring and generous, passionate… so different from the Duke’s touch. He’s helped erase so much of the pain. My body is so different, so alive, with him.”

“Well, then, he loves you. A man just interested in strategy and position or gratification will take no time for the pleasure of his lady. They just rut.”

Kissed

For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul. ~~Judy Garland

A Tuesday Tidbit and Taste of Our WIP

The ring pictured is one worn by our Medeival heroine, Lady Agnes Carlisle. The stone is called Rhodonite. The word rhodonite is derived from the Greek word rhodon for rosy, although there is also reference that credited a Celtic word rhod, which means wheel, as the origins of the name. Rhodonite has quite a distinct pink or rose red color, although material containing black veins is more popular than the uniform pink.

Some of the Metaphysical properties attributed to the stone are:
Rhodonite has been called a “stone of love” and helps one to achieve his/her greatest potential. It is said to bring emotional balance.
Rhodonite can help one have a passionate love that is also grounded, It can find your Soulmate or help mend a broken heart.
Rhodonite is a stone often used in crystal healing for healing trauma and abuse issues.
Rhodonite works beneficially on the heart chakra, opening one to unconditional love and increased service to mankind.
Rhodonite is also a calming stone, with energies used for easing anger and fear.

Agnes is aware a some of the metaphysical properties aligned to the stone, but not all. However, most are woven into and seen throughout the story. The ring is truly a subconscious talisman for her. Below is a rough draft snippet from Song of His Soul, Agnes and Gryffen's story, where our hero first comments on the ring. Though Agnes tells him of the stone, occurrences in her life won't let her believe them, even if they are her deepest desire. You see Agnes was raised to believe life was measured by responsibility and duty...and even these, people cruelly point out she has difficulty fulfilling. How could Love actually come into her life?

Gryffen took her hand. “’Tis a lovely ring.”

His thumb easily covered the cabochon and most of her finger. He merely looked at the ring. Yet, a warmth filled the emptiest places in her body as if it recognized his touch as something more intimate. This sensation frightened her. She removed her hand from his and welcomed back the cold emptiness she was accustomed to feeling.

“’Twas my grandmother’s, a wedding gift from my grandfather." Memories tugged at her heart, their's was a true love story. "The merchant told him it brings love and balance.” So why was her world spinning? “Brings your soulmate.” Agnes giggled at the irony.

 “You find this amusing?”

“Nay. Just…here I am married to Gryffen, the Soulless.”

A rough sound came from him.

She wasn’t sure if it was amusement or annoyance. “My apologies...I.”

“Nay.” He put a fingertip to her lips, “I’ve told you I enjoy your laugh, have I not? Besides you are to pray I find a soul.” He winked at her.

Agnes smiled. His kindness would be her ruin. She could like him if she let herself. She reminded herself soulmates were for others. She seemed destined to never have one.

Valentine Taste from WIP-Chocolate Covered

“Open up.” She lifted the chocolate covered strawberry to his mouth a moment before brown eyes darkened. His tongue lingered on her fingertips accepting the offering. At the nip of his teeth her eyes widened and her pulse quickened in her throat.

“Delicious.” He forced back the smile. How easy it was to read her body language. Arousal. Curiosity. But because she was interested in him didn’t mean she’d want him. Not after everything he’d put her through.

“Glad you liked it.” She reached backwards. “You want another?”

He caught her hand, caressed her fingers between his own. “You willing to be my plate?” Chocolate. Icing. Fruit. Yeah, Kate would make the prefect dish. “Lay down and…” He nodded to the oak table. “Then let me eat the dessert off your naked body…”

“Anchor!” The reprimand didn't hide the excitement in her eyes.

His chest tightened like it did every time she said his name. No one but Kate used his name. To everyone else he was Billings or Bill. There was so much that needed to be said to her and he’d get to it all. Right now looking into her gaze reinforced the fact something besides words had been a long time coming.
With his free hand, he clasped the side of her face. “Kiss me, Kate.”

At the first brush of lips a low groan vibrated from his chest to mingle with her moan. Her moist mouth opened ever so slightly to allow his tongue to swipe at her lips. He teased the swollen curve of her quivering lower lip. Her breath caught. Exquisite.

Her lips were sweet to taste. Her tongue shyly invited him to sample more, as her small breasts tantalized, pressed against his body. The breathy little sounds she made drove him to deepen the kiss. He tilted his head sealing their mouths together. He cradled her close to the heat of his body. His arms supported her while they hungrily shared one kiss after another. His appetite, for her, increased along with his need to fight back the almost brutal demands of long suppressed desire.

Yes, this had been a long time coming.

Only Once

Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you've never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.~ Bob Marley 2/6/45-5/11/81
